Decanter Magazine names David Bonomi in South America’s Top 10 Winemakers!
Tim Atkin MW had the arduous task of narrowing down to 10 South America’s most exciting winemakers for Decanter and includes David Bonomi of Bodega Norton and Finca Perdriel.
“Friendly, popular and charming, David Bonomi never stops smiling. And smile he should, given that he’s now taken over the full-time winemaking position at Bodega Norton, where his singleterroir Malbecs and red blends are exemplary and his whites are getting better with every vintage.”
Top Argentinean Whites – Finca Perdriel, Series Sauvignon Blanc 2016: “Oily, ripe and deep, typical of the region with its intense sun, but this has a surprising bonus of refreshing acidity”. Drink 2017-19.
Top Branded Wines – Bodega Norton,Winemaker’s Reserve Malbec 2014: “A monumental style, intoxicating, dense and rich in blackberry and strawberry flavours. Intense, profound and generous in every aspect.” Drink 2017-19.
As Malbec continues to enjoy growth year on year, there is another new kid on the block making headlines… Cabernet Franc! At Bodega Norton, the inaugural vintage and special project of Chief Winemaker David Bonomi, Lote Negro 2015, sourced from vines high in the Uco Valley, is already receiving great reviews and accolades.
