NEW SPARKLING ADDITION TO PORTFOLIO – CANEVEL SPUMANTI
Canevel Spumanti was founded in 1979 by Mario Caramel, an expert in the field. The company’s mission is to produce excellent spumante in Valdobbiadene and is one of the most recognized Prosecco houses, both for its sense of tradition and its historical standing.
“Canevel” means “little wine cellar” in the local dialect: the corner where the best wines are guarded and preserved.
From its first product, Prosecco di Valdobbiadene Extra Dry, it immediately reached premium positioning in the market and in the following years the company chose to add an emphasis on belonging to the historic area of high quality production.
Canevel is based in the historic heart of Prosecco production, the Valdobbiadene – Conegliano Superiore DOCG.
The soils have a very ancient origin and are characterized by the presence of moraines and sandstones that allow the production of wines of great finesse with fruity and floral aromas.
It is the highest viticultural expression of hillside winemaking in the province of Treviso, which has historically been ideally suited to Glera grape’s growing.
In September 2016 Masi acquired a 60% share in Canevel: Carlo Caramel (son of the founder) continues to represent the family and the winery.
This partnership is a perfect match: recognised brands with premium positioning linked to the values of the founding family, rooted in the cultural terroir of the Triveneto.

Casa Canevel Prosecco DOC Extra Dry (100% Glera) is an Excellent as an aperitif, this is a sparkling wine with a lively perlage. Dry and fragrant at the same time, with floral hints and apples on the nose.
Prosecco di Valdobbiadene DOCG extra Dry is the jewel in Canevel’s crown right from the beginning: an exceptional wine for elegance and balance combined with the intense aromas of apples, wisteria and acacia flowers. It comes from the Valdobbiadene area where steep hillsides, stony soils, and cooling breezes off the Adriatic create a moderate climate and promote ideal growing conditions. This optimal climate also makes for fresh, vibrant grapes that are high in acidity, perfect for growing Glera.
Vigneto del Fae’ Spumante Dosaggio Zero Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore DOCG originates from a unique natural vineyard framework surrounded by luxuriant woods, the hills of the prized Faè vineyard are the source of this eponymous cru production: a “pas dosé” sparkling with a crisp, dry taste and delicate aromas of blossom, almonds and russet apples.
